Column lifts are "beefier" versions of railgates, supporting some of the highest lifting capacities of any type of hydraulic lift. Like Railgate lifts, Column Lifts feature "tracks" that install directly onto the vehicle body. From the tracks a folding platform extends and lifts completely vertically.
How does a hydraulic tail lift work?
The pressure inside the cylinder forces the piston out, which in turn raises the liftgate plat- form. When the control box switch is turned to the DOWN position, the lowering valve coil is activated, allowing fluid to flow from the cylinder back into the reservoir .
